My Failed Eurovision Masterplan

The Austrian capital Vienna is hosting the 70th Eurovision Song Contest.

And we are going to be there next week for the final.

The Grand Final will be held on Saturday 16 May at the Wiener Stadthalle.

The logo remains terrible.

My Eurovision Gamble

I had already booked our flights and hotel before the host city was announced. Gambling that Vienna would be the host city, and the Eurovision final would be on Saturday the 16th May 2026.

When Vienna was confirmed - I was a winner, I was riding high, I was doing well, but my luck didn’t last.

It all then took an annoying twist when the tickets were initially released and we couldn’t secure any. On the next release date ticket price were a bit silly - 200+ Euros for a rehearsal show. I don’t think so.

So my Eurovision masterplan didn’t exactly end with us inside the arena — but we’ll still be in Vienna, surrounded by fans, beer, questionable costumes, and a giant screen somewhere.
